GREEN ARMY BUNKER BUSTER # 1207 - SCORE LAUGHLIN
2010 Accomplishments - LAUGHLIN Desert Challenge:
- LAUGHLIN LEAP CLASS WINNER - 2nd Year in a Row
- 5th place finish Saturday (thrown belt)
- 2nd place finish Sunday (2nd physical in class / best time overall)
- SECOND OVERALL for the Weekend in 1200 Class!
After a strong charge but disappointing 5th place finish yesterday with Dan Folts at the helm (compliments of a thrown belt) the Green Army assault was on target today. Davis (age 16) started fourth row and was able to battle up to the front and get on the bumper of the physical leader and weekend overall winner Francisco Villagomez (from Cabo) who placed 3rd on Saturday.
Davis wrestled with a third gear that wouldn't stick after only the second lap and had to drive one-handed holding it in through the treacherous Laughlin whoops, curbs and walls to the finish. "It wasn't easy and my hand is killing me" said Justin showing the huge palm sized blister on his right hand thru the glove. "We swapped position back and forth like five times and I'm just really happy with the results this weekend overall. I can't wait for San Felipe, we'll be doing allot of testing down there for sure!"
As a complimentary, true blue and true to form gesture Team Green Army had spent Saturday evening prepping and repairing the overall winner Francisco's car. "We're happy to have helped and happy with the results by both of our teams this weekend, that's what racing is all about" stated Kevin Davis Team owner, father, racer and mentor.
Thanks to all who contributed this weekend!
